Remember that I mentioned some big fun news was brewing in yesterday’s post? Well, it came together a little faster than I thought it would. Last night my own openspace sim came into life. I immediately placed a boat on the empty water, and Kavar and I chatted about all the possibilities. I’m still a bit in shock, I think.
My new home is Winterfell Sonnet and is located at the southern end of Winterfell. Winterfell Sonnet actually owes its name to Kavar. He, Kere, and I had been talking about names for the sim, and I was keeping a list of contenders. I wanted something meaningful but short, and at one point, Kavar asked about using Winterfell Sonnet because of my blog title here and the quote from which the title comes. I wrote it down and just kept coming back to it. I liked the way it sounded and looked, the reasoning for it, and just the general literary slant to it, so it climbed to the top of the list and became my pick.
I’m sure I’ll be telling you lots more about Winterfell Sonnet soon, but right now I just wanted to introduce my new baby. There are so many dreams waiting to come to life there. As Kavar and I looked out over the water, I pictured my closest friends there as we all worked on various projects, and I’m just amazingly excited and happy to have this space to share with them now. We are going to have so much fun.

Congratulations! I’m actually considering an openspace myself for later this summer. I’m still weighing the pros and cons of everything. As a new Openspace owner, I might just end up picking your brain! I can’t wait to see what you do with it, I’m sure it’s going to be amazing and lovely.
How does it work? Do you own it outright from Linden in your own name? Or does someone else actually “own” it it Linden terms, and you pay tier to them? In other words, is it like mainland, or is it like estate land?
How many prims does an Openspace sim come with?

Wolf and Chestnut, I’d be more than happy to trade tours of mine for tours of both of yours once mine is something even though Chestnut’s comment made me literally laugh out loud.
Princess Ivory, this works like estate land, and I’m renting it from Serra Anansi, who owns all the Winterfell sims, which is why my sim starts with Winterfell as well. To purchase an openspace sim you have to already own a regular sim, so if you want an openspace sim as your first one, then you need to go through someone who already owns a sim. You also get a reduced number of prims with openspace sims – 3750 total. I’m more than happy to answer any other questions from anyone if I can.

Congratulations!!!! I went and got my own as well and first thing when it was delivered was I stripped naked and did a snowangel animation in the middle.
So I understand the excitement and the possibilities you are feeling now!!!! Good luck!!!!
Congratulations! I’ve got my own open space sim as well. I did the same thing kesseret did when i had mine delivered.
I have my own regular sim so I bought mine outright from LL. If you have questions I’ll be happy to help.
